Why are the maximum load capacitance and load current ratings for Side 1 of the ISO1640/ISO1641 less than Side 2?
Part Number: ISO1640 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN6501 , SN6505B Hello experts,
We want to use the ISO1640 I2C isolator in our design. The system is having the two ground references GND1 and GND2 and single power supply of 3.3v VDD. Can i connect…
Part Number: ISO1640 Hi Team,
I check that the ISO1640 has a diode on the side 1 because of the bi-direction function need. But why we don't have one diode on the side 2?
Besides, is the Vref also needed in side 2?
Thank you.
Frank
Part Number: ISO1640 Dear Support,
Could you provide us the relation between the maximum value of the capacitor on SDA2 and SDCL2 lines and the data rate on them? (the same for SDA1 and SDCL1).
I think about the capacitor between lines and related GND…
Part Number: ISO1640 Dear support,
I have red the datasheet of ISO1640 I2C driver and I get a question about the content of §8.3 of it (page 31/58):
Could you please provide me the frequency of the carrier used to transmit the data from the two sides…
Hi Varun,
I hope that you were able to resolve the issue and continue using the device without any further issues. I will go ahead and mark this closed. But if you do see issues, please do respond to this post or create a new one. Thanks.

Part Number: ISO1640 Hi Team,
I am checking the datasheet section "8.4 Feature Description" and I got a bit confused about the device being " pre-charged to VCC/2", why is it not a universal 1V? can you explain this further?
In addition…
Part Number: ISO1640 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO1540 Hi Team,
1. Can the ISO1640 be used as an ordinary I2C buffer, i.e. shorting GND1 and GND2?
2. What's the case for the ISO1540?
Thanks!
Roy
Part Number: ISO1640 Dear TI Experts,
According to datasheet of ISO1640BD:
Same side ±8 kV IEC-ESD unpowered contact discharge on SCL2 and SDA2 (Side 2)
I am wondering whether it is possible to get the same electrical characteristic but when…
Part Number: ISO1640 Dear Team,
I have some isolator ISO1640 question.
ISO1640 spec pin 8 is NC.
If pin 8 connect to GND has some risk?
Many Thanks,
