Oh... one other thing... the circuit driving the input to the speaker amplifier circuit (the LM4861) is a summing amplifier using a TLC072IDR (opamp) using a 9V rail and a 4.5V DC offset. I am wondering if this is a potential problem.
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM4861 We use an LM4861 in a system where the speaker is off board and I need to harden it from ESD coupling. I'd like to bypass the amplifier output at the connector with some 0.1uF caps to ground but don't want to risk…
Part Number: TPA4861 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM4861 What is the best way to protect the TPA4861 from ESD coming in on the speaker connections?
I have added ESD suppressors (Littelfuse PGB1010603MR) to chassis ground on both speaker connections…
Joseph,
All right, I understand now. As I mentioned, you can use an LDO regulator in order to regulate the LM386's power supply.
Another alternative would be to use another device, you could have a look to the following devices: LM4902, LM4861 and…
Thank you Mike,
Very helpful. Oddly enough I had underlined that very passage in the datasheet but did not know what to make of it.
I have just now bypassed the unused the input (Pin 2) to ground with the use of a 0.1 μF capacitor and this problem…
