What reference design are you referring to?
Actually the device uses current-mode control, the inductor current is part of the control loop.
The larger AC signal will definitely affect the stability, and could make it more stable.

Looks like you will need dual-phase for 15A+ and no cooling system.
Consider LM25143 as it is a dual-phase chip.

I do not have a 0.8V source in my possession. My design is identical to LM25149-Q1EVM-2100, but with components for 440 kHz switching frequency.
The datasheet says tie CNFG to GND to disable AEF. But I am still getting the same EMI results.
