Part Number: LM9061-Q1 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM9061 , LM5069 Does anyone know whether the LM9061 when used in its typical application handle a dead short across the fet? I am working on an application where the current is limited to 30A. The…
Richard,
The LM9061-Q1 has no short circuit protection. A short is virtually guaranteed to cause a FET failure. Nothing can be done to prevent. Current protection is only a timeout and the pull down is weak so the FET will die. The LM5060-Q1 has a…
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM9061-Q1 , LM9061 Hello Team,
I am currently using LM9061-Q1 to drive a MOSFET to monitor cut off voltage of the battery. The FET is 100A, controlled by a 3.3V logic signal. It switches once in a very long time, so…
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM9061-Q1 , LM9061 , LM5060-Q1 Hi
My customer is using LM9061-Q1. He doesn't want to use Overcurrent Protection. Is LM9061-Q1 able to be unused Overcurrent Protection? If it is possible, Could you let me know how to…
Hi,
The other options are external FET based hot-swap controller solution. You can connect high voltage controller LM5069 like Figure 24 in https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/lm9061-q1.pdf to achieve bidirectional overcurrent protection.
Best Regards…

Hi Rakesh,
As I read LM5069 datasheet, this part use resistor for curent limit. Are you sure LM5069 can use similar with figure 24 in https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/lm9061-q1.pdf to achieve bidirectional current limit?
Many thanks,
Bang Duon…
Hi Tarun,
OR-ing circuit provides reverse current blocking but no current limit during overload or short circuit where as Hot-swap circuit provides inrush current management, overload + short circuit protection.
As you need current flow in both directions…
