    Yes, the input voltage is constant at 24V (range of 18 to 30V). Meanwhile, I've decided to use the LMR23615 instead at the cost of a slightly larger PCB area.

    Hi, Yes there is plenty of integrated switch buck converter that you can use. From LM2596 to the newer ones that we have. Here is one example design using LMR23615. You can always use webench to get general idea of the initial component selection…

    There is no plan to discontinue this device. You can continue to use it. You can also use newer devices such as LMR14010A, LMR14020, LMR16010. Or synchronous devices where no external diode is needed, such as : LMR23610, LMR23615, LMR33620, LM43601…
