LP3988: Can Power Good (PG) really not go above VDD?

    Part Number: LP3988

When I look at the Absolute Maximums section, it says that PD must be the lesser of VIN + 0.3 V or 6 V.

Is actually this correct? This seems unusual for an open-drain power-good output, that it can't go above the input rail.

    LP3988-load capacitance clarification

    Hi,

I am going to use the LP3988 device for my new design. In LP3988 datasheet, they have given the output capacitance is 1uf(typ) to 20uf(max).

My question is,the output rail capacitance(including other device decap's) shouldnt exceed the maximum limit(20uf) or its required for output stability purpose?. Please clarify.

    Design Requirement:

    Input Voltage – 3.3V

    Output Volatage – 2.5V

    Output Current – 50.4mA

    Total output capacitance - 55uf

    Thanks,

    Jeyalakshmi

TPS745: Is the device ok with surge from photodiode

    Part Number: TPS745

    Hi Team

I have a customer asking me if we have any solution that supports the photodiode application with the following electrical requirements.

    3.3V-2.8V, 115mA(LDO) with PG pin

I have found that the LP3988, TPS7A25 and TPS745 meets such requirements while having excellent cost/performance.

The problem is, however, as the customer is planning on using the LDO on the photodiode sensor, he mentioned that there would possibly be a surge generates by the photodiode as the CMOS sensor turns off, and he would prefer an LDO solution that's able to withstand such situation without needing to be turned off.

I don't have any information regarding how large the surge is but does TPS745(or LP3988, TPS7A25) look good for this kind of application? If not, some device suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Regards

    David

    BQ2970: BQ29707 , protection circuit

    Part Number: BQ2970

I made a test board by TIDA-00669 schematic.

    I measured the voltage and got V_ab :-2.8 , V_ac : 1.15, V_bc : 3.95.

I connected a regulator lp3988 at point d and it did not work.

I expected V_ac or V_ad  to be 3.95V , but it was 1.15V.  What am I doing wrong?

If I connect 3.3v buck/booster TPS63051, will it work OK?

    Thanks in advance.

    REG113: ESD specification of REG113EA-3.3/2K5

    Part Number: REG113

    Hi team,

My customer want to know the specification of REG113EA-3.3/2K5 ,

    but datasheet doesn't show that.

could you provide the ESD of REG113EA-3.3/2K5  information to me?

    RE: LP3988IMFX-2.85 Questions

No, the LP3988 R1 and R2 values are not available.

If I guess that 50% of the typical Iq(no load) current ((85uA / 2)= 42uA) is through R1 and R2, AND if I guess that typical Vref is 1.250V, then R2 would need to be about 30.0k ohms, which would make R1 about 38.4k ohms.

Not sure how your customer is planning implement level shifting of the Enable Vil threshold, but there is more to the ground pin current that what's going through R1 and R2.

RE: PG (power good) on low EN (chip disable)

PG pin is disabled (off / hi-z) when Ven is low.

Following three images are scope shots where LP3988 PG pin is biased from Vin (5V) thru a 50k ohm pull-up R, while EN pin is toggled.
