  • RE: Need Stable Current Source Design Suggestion

    Kenneth Du

Hi, YUI, It can provide stable current. And you can use D1 to D8 to achieve continuous pusing current. Actually your accuracy is quite high. We don't have an LED driver can meet ~20mA ± <50µA and ~140mA ± < 2mA current. But you can also take…

Hi, Viktorija, We don't have a current source for 16 channels. I think LP5018 should be a good candidate for PCA9685. And LP55231 is a 9 channel current source driver. Thanks. Kenneth

Thanks for coming back so quickly. Those are great parts. Needed is a 3 to 4 channel part. Concerns are size and cost. Is it possible to use e.g. the LP55231 connecting only one RGB? Thanks, Miriam

Hi Mike, Both devices do not have dedicated LED engine to support breathing behavior, however, this behavior can be accomplished by keep sending i2c commands to the device adjust the brightness accordingly. You should also take a look at LP55231,…

Just another crazy thought ... not sure about your cost and size constraints, but the LP55231/LP8501 support 12-bit PWM, and proportional logarithmic dimming, so that you can get good colour matching right down to <1% brightness...

Hi Bartek, If you need 5 LEDs in parallel and independent control then you can look at a device like the LP5523 or LP55231 depending on package need. That AC/DC regulator looks like it could be used to drive LEDs with a constant current, but not individual…
