For DC bus current we have to use a low value sense resistor between ground and device .

Can you check if AVDD is shorted to GND by measuring the impedance between the AVDD pin and GND?
Can you also provide a capture of AVDD, FB_BK, and VM at startup, something similar to Figure 9-13 in the MCT8316Z datasheet ?
