The PCM1753 is pin compatible with the PCM1748, PCM1742, and PCM1741, except for pin 5. PCM1753 is 5-V single supply where as PCM1742 uses Dual-Supply Operation: 5-V Analog and 3.3-V Digital. Thus pin 5 is different. I don't have access to…

The PCM1789 does not have this limitation. The limitation expressed in that document is actually shown in most of the affected datasheets (see PCM1748, for example).
