    Hi Francis, Exceeding the absolute maximum voltage rating will likely damage the device. Normally this would look like a short. PMP23431 has an example of how to support higher voltage buses with an external startup circuit. I hope this answers your…

    Ponkamali, You can have lower start up current with longer start up time. Please check the PMP23431 test report. It has the startup waveform at 60V input. It took 11seconds though. Best, Ning

    In that case, why not just use UCC28730? 28730 is a PSR controller and 28740 is a SSR controller. Please see the ref design using 28730 for this wide Vin range: https://www.ti.com/tool/PMP23431
