Part Number: REF6141 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DDC316 , REF3140 , , OPA350 , REF35 , REF50 Good afternoon,
In one of my designs I am using a DDC316. In the reference schematic in the datasheet of the DDC316 (p.19 Figure 15), an external reference…
Hi,
They are not needed. They are used to filter out high frequencies and frequencies of interest. They are probably used because the stage before the REF50 is a DC/DC switcher and its noise switching frequency is above the PSRR frequency of the REF50…
Hi Dennis
If you diconnet the output with from the capacitor , it won't work.
Can you please remove the REF50 pin 6 and and check what is the output you are getting across C35. I suspect it is getting shorted from some where else on the board. …
Hi Victor,
To add, I would not use a series resistor due to it affecting accuracy of the REF50.
Is the issue that the REF50 turns on too fast before the ADC?
Or that the REF50 is still on after the ADC turns off?
Hi Robert,
Have you performed the swap of the faulty REF50 with a known good REF50?
I want to understand if this is a device issue or an application issue.
Hi Ranjith,
We have to understand what is the source of the noise.
Can you share a schematic?
What is your input/output cap?
What is the stage before the REF50?
What are all the loads on the REF50?
Hi Marvin,
Please look into our training manuals, they do a better job that we can here on E2E. The same principles in these training apply for REF50

Hi Noriyuki San
It is recommended to have a small resistor in series with the o/p cap for REF50. This will improve the noise performance. Section 12 in the REF50 data sheet has explained this.

Hello Brian.
Do we know if the 17V output from flyback is used to power any other components in the system?
Can the 17V output be changed to lower voltage e.g. 15V. This will ensure REF50 voltage ratings is not violated.
Please check if other components…
