To add, I would not use a series resistor due to it affecting accuracy of the REF50.
Is the issue that the REF50 turns on too fast before the ADC?
Or that the REF50 is still on after the ADC turns off?

What are all the loads on the REF50?

It is recommended to have a small resistor in series with the o/p cap for REF50. This will improve the noise performance. Section 12 in the REF50 data sheet has explained this.

The reason I did not recommend the LM4140 is because it only works from 0C to 70C. The ADS1271 is usable in a longer temp range. If this ADC is only going to have a ambient temperature between 0C to 70C, you can use LM4140.
