Part Number: SN74LV595A Hi Logic Team,
My customer uses the LV595A with a pull up resistor at the outputs to keep the output an a known-state at all times (avoid Hi-Z). If VCC = 0V while the outputs are being pulled up, will I have a potential reverse…

Can I expect the outputs QA - QH to be high-Z when the device is not powered?
Thought I'd check this before I make any assumptions.
Thanks
Ian
A current of 0.5 mA might be enouch to charge the decoupling capacitor and to power up the device.
Can't you pull up to VCC?
There are devices without clamping diodes, e.g., SN74AHC595-Q1, SN74LV595A-Q1.
Part Number: SN74LV595A I used SN74LV595A in Our Company product.
But I wonder how to calculate how many can be used. When using the MCU to control RCLK and SRCLK pins, how many can be used without additional buffers or helps?
Part Number: SN74LV595A-EP The data-sheet says that the thermal pad should be connected to the correct circuit, but I can't find anything that says what that is. My guess is ground, which would make sense for a thermal plane. But I have run into at least…
Part Number: SN74LV595A Hi team,
We are using 3pcs of the SN74LV595A as in below schematic(last picture) with series these three QH' to next stage SER.
You can see below first picture and we can know that first and third part should be no issue f…
Part Number: SN74LV595A Daer TI,
From the reliability data on the TI homepage MTBF (average breakdown time) is converted to a year value of about 106,164 years, I am inquiring about whether it is mathematically correct.

On the SN74LV595A Rev Q datasheet the 9.2.3 Application Curve of ICC VS Frequency dose not look correct specifically the 5 V, where 20 MHZ of clock indicates 400 MilliAmps. It lack information on setup but I assume the Clock and storage clock are the…
Part Number: SN74HCS595-Q1 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LV595A-Q1 , Dear expert,
Customer wants to connect pin SER, Qa~Qh to a connector to connect signal outside of the board. This connector need hot plug. Can our silicon support this?
Or we need…
1. At 2 V, the worst-case resistance is 0.1 V / 20 µA = 5 kΩ.
2. The load is a constant current sink of 20 µA. Then V OH is measured.
3. Because the load is larger than 20 µA. (For currents larger than the specified I OH , the resistance…
