Part Number: THS788 Hello
the THS788 Quad-Channel Time Measurement Unit (TMU) is not recommended for new designs.
Does this mean it will be obsolete soon? Is there a similar replacement available?
I am just starting a project that needs a time stamp device…
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THS788 Hello,
There is customer who asked some questions about THS788, but I didn't find any documents about THS788 on TI website. Below is the question, could you please help to provide some advise?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THS788 Dear all,
I am working on a project involving the THS788 Timing Measurement Unit. Unfortunately, even if the part is NRND, we started the project many months ago and decided to use this chip.

Part Number: THS788 What is actual delay from input pulse to output strobe goes low with empty FIFO ? It seems that the delay is much higher that described for sect. 8.5.2.4. I see near 2x19 clocks minimum delay instead of 5 clock period for 16 bits result…
Part Number: THS788 We currently use the quad-channel time measurement unit THS788 in our first product to tightly synchronize the optical and electrical elements to each other within 10ps.
We have defined the requirements for our new product and we need…
Part Number: THS788 Hi,
We have been using the THS788 for a year on our first product.
We are starting the design of our new product where power is very limited.
To give a little background, we would have three channels but only one channel would be measured…
I apologize. I did not realize anyone was waiting for update.
This question has been answered prior.
Our product group "High Reliability" only has the THS788, and THS789 for time measurement devices. We are not designing newer versions of TMUs…
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THS788 , THS789 What will be the best host processor/microcontroller for the TMU THS788. I thought of using PIC32MX or MZ series processors, but the host has to be slave to read result data from the TMU and PIC SPI is too…
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THS788 , TDC7200 the TDC7200 but it only performs measurements at Max. 170kHz.... and I want it to perform approx 1 million distance measurements per second. Then I came across THS788, which offers quad channels and works…
