For Single Phase BLDC control, it seems that TI does not provide many reference designs.
I can…
Part Number: DRV8701EVM Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00875 , DRV8870 HI,
I have read the reference design TIDA-00875.
And I have used the DRV8870 to drive the single-phase BLDC.
But I had a problem with the motor starting itself in certain positions…
Timur,
Is is a 3-phase BLDC fan or a single-phase BLDC?
If single phase, then yes you could drive 2x fans with DRV8426P. Or consider a single h-bridge driver like the DRV8876 (upgrade to DRV8801A mentioned in TI design).
Please see TI design for single…
Hi Shivam,
Thank you for your interest in TI products.
Are you interested in using the Hall sensor for rotary encoding or motor commutation? What is the typical speed of this motor in your application?
A Hall-effect latch is the correct type of hall sensor…
Hi Frank,
Take a look at this reference design: TIDA-00875. You should be able to accomplish a very simple single phase design using an H-Bridge driver with a PH/EN interface and an external hall sensor (i.e. DRV5013). The DRV8876 or DRV8801 should work…
Brian,
The DRV8701, DRV8702-Q1, DRV8702D-Q1, DRV8703-Q1, and DRV8703D-Q1 are our closest devices. Speed control and hall-sensor feedback may need to be controlled by external circuitry. We do not integrate those features in these devices.
TIDA-00875…
Hello Kura,
I am not sure what you refer to as 'single-phase' inverter? I assume you plan to drive a single-phase BLDC, which is typically driven with a full-bridge. Option 1: Remove one phase from any 3-phase inverter design like TIDA-00913 to…
Part Number: DRV8801 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00875 , Hi,
One of my customer designed a single phase BLDC operated on 12V using DRV8801 with reference from TIDA-00875.
1. When i try to stop the fan blades physically using some obstacle like…
Hi John,
The DRV8301 is capable of driving a single phase brushless motor. While not having used the DRV8301 to drive the motor, we have created a reference design using the DRV8801, a brushed motor driver.
