  • TL4242: External voltage applied to output

    David Dean
    David Dean
    TI Thinks Resolved
Part Number: TL4242 Can the output pin (Q) tolerate an externally-applied voltage? In this case Vin would be 9V, the TL4242 would be disabled (PWM = 0V), but 6V would be applied to Q. Is this ok?

  • TL4242: R_REF = 0Ω for max current

    David Dean
    David Dean
    TI Thinks Resolved
Part Number: TL4242 The datasheet mentions an I_qmax of 600mA when R_REF = 0Ω. Is this an acceptable thing to do? My application needs about 500mA (600 would be acceptable). However, I cannot use a low-side current sense so I cannot use the TL4242…

  • TL4242: Possible to use as current sink without LEDs?

    David Dean
    David Dean
    TI Thinks Resolved
Part Number: TL4242 I am wondering if it is possible to use TL4242 as a constant current sink but without actually using LEDs. I believe I would do this by simply connecting Q directly to REF. It seems like this should work, and the TL4242 would drop all…

Part Number: TL4242 Hello team, I'd like to know if there is LED current dependency in rise/fall time(tPWM,ON/OFF) on TL4242. The datasheet spec of 15us is for 377mA LED current. For instance, how should we estimate the difference for 150mA case? Thanks…
