I've used the TLC339 quad CMOS comparator frequently and found it quite satisfactory. It is rated at 3us response time but with more overdrive, it gets down to about 1us.

I(DD) refers to the supply current of the comparator. If you look at the datasheet of any CMOS Comparator, then you will see Idd refers to comparator supply current. Look at the datasheet of TLC339 at: http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folders/print…
