Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPD2S017 The TPD2S017 lists the absolute max Vio as 5V. Is that for ANY amount of current flow? This needs clarification, as this is a clamping device. If one single overshoot event causes it to fail, what good is it?…
Hello Everyone,
Can anyone provide details on the pcb lay-out or how to mount TPD2S017? Are there any special lay-out guidelines for this?
TPD2S017's data sheet mentioned placing it on top of the signal trace (D+/D-).
Is is correct that their…
Hello Arpad,
Yes, the TPD2S017 is unipolar. It cannot handle a negative signal, as we do not have the back-to-back Zener diode structure to allow negative voltage swings through this device.
However, the TPD2E007 does in fact allow negative voltage…
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPD2S017 Dear Sir
I have the following doughts. Please clarify the below doughts.
(1) In our Project we are using TPD2S017 for ESD protection.
(2) In this chip pin no 3 , 4 are Ch1_In, Ch2_In and pin no 1, 6 are…
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPD4E1U06 , TPD2S017 , TPD6F002 Hello guys,
One of my customers is looking for ESD protection device for MIPI interface.
Is there any recommended device?
Your reply would be much appreciated.
Best regards, Kazuya…
Hi Sebastian,
Yes, we do have devices that we typically recommended for MIPI interfaces. The devices are: TPD4E1U06 , TPD2S017 , TPDxF003 (EMI filter w/ ESD), TPD6F002 (EMI filter w/ ESD).
Please let me know what you think of these recommendations…

Never heard anything from TI. I ended up using the tpd2s017 in the product along with a 1.5KΩ series resistor, and we haven't had problems thus far.... Not the way I like to leave things, though. Figures 4 & 5 in the data sheet looked the best for the…
Hi Paul,
Glad to tell that the issue is solved now. Thanks to the TI team here.
The issue was with the ESD protection IC -TPD2S017 that latched the voltage to 2.2v.
As the IC was connected on D+ and D- , we were doubting it to the least.
Once…
