    Steve, TPS53219A is the alternative part. Also TPS53119 is a newer part with slightly different temp range. To answer your question yes it is okay to design for higher current as long as the design considerations are taken care of. Regards, Mathew …

    John, LM3485 is designed to be used with a PFET. You can look at alternate parts such as TPS53119 that has a skip mode feature at light loads. Regards, Mathew
