We are attempting to use the TPS61187 for driving 60 white leds at 20mA, and chips are failing after a while.
Here is the schematics, LEDs have been left out, but are exactly as specified in the datasheet and evm.

Not sure if I am misreading the data sheet, but i cannot find a range for an input current for Vin? I am planning to use power from a USB C connector. Can anyone advise further?

You can try with TPS61177A / TPS61187 / LP8556 since it can change the switching frequency, it may help to achieve better efficiency.

It may cause some parametrs not very stable or can't meet the specs on datasheet. But you can refer to LP8556 or TPS61177A/TPS61187 for choice.
