Can I use the SS/TR-Pin to control the load current?
Measure the load current by adding an ext. Opamp as current-controller and feed back the signal to SS/TR-Pin to reduce the duty-cycle.

The TLV62568A won't be able to support more than 47uF output cap. Higher output cap causes the control loop to be unstable. Please use TPS628511, TPS628501 or TPS628301 to support larger output caps.

Yes both devices can generate 2.5V output with 500mA from a 5V supply.

You might like to consider TPS628511 which can support up to 1A of load current. It has a switching frequency of 2.25MHz and feedback control circuit which is almost similar with TPS624x0. And it also has SS/TR pin which…
