    Hi Richard, RT/CT pin for UC1843 runs off of 5V reference that is generated internally on the IC. Thus the voltage on RT pin must be limited to Vref pin rating + 0.3V . Thus RT pin should be limited to 5.1V +0.3V =5.4V max. .
