  • RE: Need controller for 3 Ph PFC to be implemented on a per phase basis.

Hello John, Thanks for your reply and information. Is there any reason why the UCC28070A (or any other capable PFC IC for this application) could not be used in delta connected boost PFC's? This is a possibility since there would be a lower EMI…

You can use the UCC28180. The pfc output voltage will be higher than the input voltage so you need to design for an output voltage of 700Vdc or so. Please use the calculator SLUC506 to help with selection of components.

Hi, Monli You can refer to below reference design, which is similar with your requirement. The UCC28180 is a PFC controller, which can handle 180Vac to 600Vac. www.ti.com/.../TIDA-00355 Regards, yunsheng

Hi Ranita, Best options for the CM680x devices are below with comments and none are drop in replacements and there are notable package pin count/function differences. UCC28180 is not a combo device so I assume based on the CM680x PNs a combo is…

Hello Bharat As I said earlier, the UCC29950 is not well suited to applications above about 750W or so. There are a couple of reasons for this. An interleaved PFC stage is a better option at high power because each stage handles only part of the power…

Hi I assume you need an 85Vac to 265Vac input voltage range? The output is 1.2kW so it will most likely need a PFC front end to converter the AC line to a 380V to 400V BUS and then a phase shifted full bridge to converter the PFC DC voltage down to…

Hi Maurizio, Thanks for your interest in UCC28600. 48V at 8A is 384W which is too large of an output power for a flyback topology. It would be better to use a two stage approach of PFC + DC/DC. For PFC you can take a look at UCC28064A for low profile…

700W is beyond the power handling capability of the 8 pin UCC28051 transition mode pfc controller. For that power level, I suggest you use the 8 pin UCC28180 continuous conduction mode pfc controller Regards, John Griffin

Hello Shahriar, Which reference design for the UCC28070 do you refer to ? If you specify the reference design number then I can look at the schematic and help. The UCC28070 does not have a CS pin. The UCC28063 and UCC28180 detect a negative inductor…
