Part Number: BQ76952 Tool/software: Hello Ti Team,
I have a question to the internal balancing of the bq76952.
In the following picture you can see the Pin Equivalent Diagram of for example cell 10:
How is the Gate-Source Voltage for the internal…
Part Number: BQ76952 Tool/software: Dear TI Expert,
Autonomous Balancing in BQ76952.
We are design standalone BMS using BQ76952 IC.
While experimentally in found that balancing start only following to conditions decide other conditions are meet…
Hi Rafel,
You cannot operate like this. This will short the battery with internal balancing MOS and you cannot turn on all of the external MOS due to the gate-source voltage cannot be built.

Part Number: BQ76952 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ34Z100 , , TPS7A43 Tool/software: Hello TI Team,
what would be more effective and consumes less power with a BAT voltage of around 48V and an assumed load of only around 50µA (the idea is to connect…
Part Number: TIDA-010208 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76952 , Tool/software: Circuit design using BQ76952. If I want to utilize the internal cell balancing function, do I just need to remove the DMG2302UK-7 FET from the TIDA-010208 circuit? Or are…
Part Number: BQ76952 Tool/software: Hi,
I'm currently developing BMS firmware utilizing a bq76952 chip that monitors our 15s lithium-iron-phosphate battery pack.
The AFE, when the cells are pretty close (i.e., average 3.55) to the end-of-charge voltage…
Part Number: BQ76952 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO , BQ76942 Tool/software: Little background: I came from a previous board design utilizing the BQ764002, where although the IC was extremely crude to design for electrically, it was straightforward…
Part Number: BQ76952 Tool/software: Hi Team,
I am using the BQ76952 ic as my analog frontend ic. So I wanted to ask about the balancing resistors on the cell balancing side. In the datasheet it is mentioned that in case of an internal cell balancing…
Part Number: BQ76952 Tool/software: Hello TI Team,
We are developing a 16S, 50A Li-ion BMS using the BQ76952 and would appreciate your feedback on our schematic and PCB. The design incorporates external N-channel MOSFETs for cell balancing (VCn–VCn…
Part Number: BQ76952 Tool/software: We have a 16S1P pack using the BQ76952 for the BMS and cell balancing. The cell balancing is using External P-FETs, and follows the SLUAA81A Cell Balancing app note. Everything looks like it is working from the control…
