Leo,
The ADS1115EVM-PDK only works with the I2C communication, so you wouldn't be able to be able to test any SPI communication. I would look over the material for the booster pack:

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1118 Hi,
I have acquired a couple of ADS1118 BoosterPacks http://www.ti.com/tool/430boost-ads1118?keyMatch=ADS1118&tisearch=Search-EN with an intention to use them in a lab without any extra job on fixing them.

Hello Camden,
I recommend evaluating the ADS1118. It should greatly minimize the complexity of your design by offering an integrated solution. Please see Figure 51 in the data sheet. You could then interface the ADS1118 with your microcontroller. Actually…
Hi Sora,
I think your question relates to the measurement using a thermocouple. The ADS1118 has an internal temperature sensor, but it cannot be used beyond the absolute maximum operating temperature of the ADS1118 which is 125 deg C. The internal temperature…
Bob,
On further investigation I decided, as you suggested, that there must be noise affecting the sclk line.
Apparently I was trying to extend an SPI bus connection farther that is practical.
I took a EVM with a MSP430F2132 and connected it to the ADS1118…
Dear Shu-Cheng LIN -
the HDC2010 or HDC2080 are integrated humidity and temperature sensor devices, with I2C interface to MCU. You are correct, they have no interface or conditioning circuitry inside to accommodate an external temperature probe / thermocouple…
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1118EVM , ADS1118 I am trying to build a board that utilizes the ADS1118 ADC and will be very similar to the ADS1118EVM evaluation module. My application needs to simultaneously measure two differential analog inputs…
Samuel,
I don't know of anyone that is using the ADS1118 with a b-type thermocouple. With the full scale range of +/-0.256V, this gives you an LSB size of 7.8uV, which is a bit large for such a small response. If you do go with the ADS1118, there are…
