Part Number: SN65HVD255DEVM Hello,
Does the SN65HVD255D Evaluation Module can work with a SN65HVDA100-Q1 instead?
If not what dev board would you recommend to evaluate LIN with a AM335X?
Thanks.
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65HVD265 , SN65HVD255 Hello, Can I use SN65HVD265 with SN65HVD255DEVM? Since there is no EVM of SN65HVD265(data rate 2Mbps) , our customer would replace the device from SN65HVD255 to SN65HVD265. If we can use, are there any…
Alex,
I wanted to follow up on this. We set up the devices in our lab with various pull-down resistances (and no capacitances) and observed the CANH and CANL lines. We just saw the expected waveforms, though, no noise like your scope shots show. We…
Hello,
Is there any transceiver chip which I can use as single wire CAN transceiver.
I was also looking at SN65HVD255DEVM kit.
How can I use this to make it single wire CAN transceiver.

Hi Eric,
The SN65HVD231Q does not have an EVM made specifically for it, but we do have an EVM for the SN65HVD255 device which is fairly generic and would work for evaluating this device as well.

Hi Govind,
Unfortunately, none of the 3.3V CAN transceivers in our portfolio have an EVM specifically made for them.
With that being said the SN65HVD257 EVM that you mentioned can easily be used for 3.3V CAN transceivers, but I think the SN65HVD255EVM…
There are limits on the EN pin in the Absolute Maximum Ratings table (-0.5V to +7V). Figure 11 is for a automated protection test, not a general recommendation for board and system level design. A series resistor with the EN pin would help provide protection…
