It seems "TIDA-00540" is obsolete.
And the IC's in the above reference design are also non stocked…
Part Number: TIDA-00540 Hi. Working on a common pinout RS232 / RS422 / RS485 design where the respective transceivers will be disabled as required. Came across TIDA-00540 and concerned if this will function as noted due to the internal 5k pull-down resistors…
Part Number: TIDA-00540 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CSD87502Q2 Hi Team,
Did you have more detail circuit or document for below circuit in attachment?
Could you share it with me? Thanks!

Hi Alan,
No this device only supports RS-232.
We don't have a multi-protocol RS device available at this time.
We have a multi-chip solution for RS-232 and RS-485 - located here : https://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-00540
Please let me know if you have…
Hi Tyler,
Here is the new capture :
CH1 = USART1-RX, CH2 = USART1-PRCTL
Yes /USART1-PRCTL is just the inverted signal of USART1-PRCTL, currently USART1-PRCTL is tied to 3.3V and there is a 2N2222 with two resistors of 10K doing the inversion to generate…
Hi, Frank,
I guess you meant MXL1544/MXL1543/MXL1344A. Unfortunately TI hasn't released any multi-protocol devices yet. I'm not aware of any device for termination selection either. For the discrete solution, please check out this TI design.

Amelie,
We currently do not have such a device. Note that in some cases this could be implemented using separate RS-485 and RS-232 transceivers - an example is given in TIDA-00540:
https://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-00540
This allows some more flexibility in…
Dear Surya -
Since I2C is so radically different from RS-485, I think your best option would be to use the UART pins on same MCU which is also interfacing to sensors over I2C. Then you just need to have basically RS232 (TTL/UART) to RS485 converter.

Hi Karen,
We do not have combined RS-485 / RS-232 transceivers at this time. Such a function can be achieved via multiple chips, though. You can see an example in this reference design:

Please let us know if you have…
Hi Eggsy,
We do not currently have such a device, although it is possible to achieve this function with separate RS-232 and RS-485 devices. You can find an example reference here:
