Part Number: LM66100 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2116 We're looking to use LM66100 for power ORing to power a GSM module. This GSM module takes a peak of 2A for a duration of 0.6 ms every 4.5ms. Can LM66100 handle such spikes? We're asking because…
Hi Thomas,
I'd recommend using 2x TPS2116 /7, which can be set to use one battery pack until it discharges to a programmed voltage, then use the other one. Or, it can be designed to use whichever input is a higher voltage. There won't be cross-conduction…
Hi Art,
We do not recommend using LM66100 in a load sharing application like this. There is a situation where more than one device could be active causing short between two batteries of different voltages. This could be a low current connection which…
Hi Elizabeth,
Thanks for info. What I could understand is both TPS2115A & TPS2116 support 2A capacity. But the later is preferable in case of battery operated systems due to low quiescent current. If I use multiple stages of TPS2115A/TPS2116, what would…

Hello experts,
1.
When we use Dual Ideal Diode ORing configuration, is it possible to implement reverse polarity protection(RPP)?
From datasheet, connecting CE/ pin to GND is needed…
Jebin,
Yes, the circuit will work in this configuration for what you are trying to achieve. Please also take a look at TPS2116 or TPS2121 which has the same functionality in 1 IC, along with other features.
Best
Dimitri
Hi Jerry,
It is possible to use a PowerMUX like TPS2121 and TPS2116 in this setup. LM66100 will also work.
Please contact the team directly for details here. We would like to understand more about the system in detail. Feel free to email me at s…
Part Number: TPS2113A Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2116 , TPS2121 I have the following schematic in my design.
XFMR_OUT (IN2) is always on. HSEC_5V0 (IN1) is turned on and off.
When I turn HSEC_5V0 (IN1) on, sometimes the output of the switch…
Part Number: TPS2115 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2113A , , TPS2116 Hello!!
I am having trobles with the Hysteresis in this circuit.
A ripple in the inputs makes the output switch permanet the inputs.
I am thinking of adding an external…
Part Number: TPS22992 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2116 , BQ24072T Hello,
I am working on a project utilizing IC's with USB ports to supply power to a Rasberry with a LIPO battery. With an AC/DC adapter I am sending 5V to the IN pin of the…
