Hi Andy, I check TPS54140A the current limit is too high for customer application, The OCP needs under 1.5A. Did you have other recommended? Thanks. TPS54140A

Hi Victor, So you are trying to generate a +/-8.5V for the gate driver using isolated supply with 36V input, is that correct? There are a variety of bias supply options available from TI. Please take a look at the reference design for UCC23513 using…

Is the battery still connected when you have the external power applied? In the first case, I would probably not want to use a linear regulator to convert 12 to 36 V down to 5 V. A switching regulator would be much better (maybe TPS54140A?). Then I think…

I Mahesh, I agree with you that if light load efficiency is important TPS54140A is a better choice. If you need supported for the TPS54140A part you should start a thread with that part number in the title. Regards

If the EN voltage tolerance is a big concern, you could consider TPS54140A. It has an improved EN circuit with much tighter tolerances.

Then that series of devices should work well. Since the current peak current is greater than the load current by a factor of 1-D you may need TPS54140A Rather than TPS54040A. There is a calculator here: www.ti.com/.../swiftinv-calc We (TI) may…
