INA230: The die ID is a fixed number?

Hi Team,

My customer wants to implement a special application on their system, so they need to know the die ID is a fixed number or not?

The detail is customer use INA230 and INA219 in two different projects but they want to keep using same FW code. Then, both devices are configured as the same slave address, 0x40(7 bit), at two projects. Is there any methods can help customer to identify which INA part they are using?

Hello Vincent,

The INA230 includes a die ID register (along with a couple other registers) while the INA219 does not. Maybe they could use these differences in the register maps to make the determination as to what part they are communicating with.

Many thanks for your suggestion, I will check with customer if this approach can help solving their problem.

Btw, the die ID value customer had read out is 0x6022, is it correct? It is a fixed value across parts, right?

Hey Vincent,

The die ID value is constant for all INA230 devices. So every INA230 device ID should read 0x6022.
