INA186: Shutting down with inputs powered

Hi,

Im using the INA186 (SC70 package) in a portable product which is connected between the battery and the system LDO or charger.

Since its VS+ is connected to the system power rail, is any kind of input protection required when the device is powered down ?

no. Read section 9 of datasheet.

Sumitra,

Kai is correct here. As it states in section 9, "The INA186 also withstands the full differential input signal range up to 40 V at the IN+ and IN– input pins, regardless of whether the device has power applied at the VS pin."

There should be no issues with your configuration.
