ISO224: ISO224

Part Number: ISO224
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC3330-Q1

Hello,

Please confirm if ISO224 has Automotive application qualification/certification. Refer me to alternate solution with Auto certification part considering similar specification.

Thanks.

  • Hi Anshul,

ISO224 does not have an automotive qualified variant.

AMC3330-Q1 is our closest automotive qualified device in terms of high input impedance, bipolar input. However the input is +/-1V instead of +/-12V.

The AMC3330-Q1 has an integrated DC/DC converter as well.

Are there any other specific criteria that you are looking for?

  • Thanks for much for the prompt response Alex.
Not sure what difference it makes "input is +/-1V instead of +/-12V" my application demands to monitor high voltage (800VAC/DC). Please help me to refer Application note/White paper for detailed explanation. Will AMC3330-Q1  be good for my application ?

  • Hi Anshul,

Happy to help! Yes, AMC3330-Q1 should be a good device for your application.

In both cases the voltage will need to be attenuated using a resistor divider. The wider input range allows for a larger input signal, which can improve SNR ratio in very noisy, high voltage environments such as industrial transport (railways) or grid applications where the voltage magnitude will be much larger.

The ISO224 has many "circuit cookbooks" that explain how to attenuate the input signal using a resistor divider and condition the output signals depending on your choice of ADC (fully differential or psuedo differential). The absolute voltage levels will be different, but the same theory can be applied to your conditions. Please let me know if you need assistance or would like a schematic & layout review.
