LMV339: Rail to Rail 2x2mm alternative or workaround

Part Number: LMV339
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM393LV, LM339LV

Hello,

we use 13x LMV339 to detect over current in our circuit but have overlooked that it does not support rail to rail input operation. The input needs to stay 700mV below supply, which is in our case 4.3V max.

But our upper limit we have to detect is 5V-52mV = ca 4,95V.

1) The problem we are facing now is that we cannot just replace the 2x2mm LMV339 with f.e. LM393LV (with rail-rail input) as these are only available in 3x3mm package. The space on the PCB is very limited.  Also, the QFN 3x3mm  all have an exposed pad, which does not allow placing vias under the IC. Therefore with QFN 3x3 the PCB would be way to large.

2) We could upper the Vcc of the LMV339 to 5.7V. But it is only specified up to 5.5V

I have the information that there is no rail to rail input + 4channel + 2x2mm package comperator available? Is there already a timeline for such a device?

Do you have any suggestions how to solve this issue short term?

Thanks,

Alen
