OPA189: How to design a current to voltage converter based on OPA189?

Part Number: OPA189

Hi team,

My customer need to convert -30mA~30mA current to 0~5V voltage, based on OPA189.

Can you pls help suggest a reference circuit for this?

Many thanks!

  • Normally, you would start out with the design requirements then move towards
a suitable device. Picking a part, then forcing it to work in your
application is kind of backwards. What are the requirements?
    Source cap,
Your 30mA to 30mA is a typo, what is is really?
    required DC precision
    Required Speed
Desired input integrated noise level and so forth.
I will say the transimpedance app normally has a DC level on the inputs, so
a RRinput device is almost never needed.
  • Hi Yunjing,

Michael is correct. It is necessary to start a design with design requirements, so that all possible requirements shall be met in a selection of a suitable  circuit, including op amp selection.

I provide a current to voltage converter example below. Please provide us the design requirements so that we can optimize a circuit per your application.
