[FAQ] Does TI provide guidance on input resistance variation due to manufacturing process, temperature drift and lifetime for isolated converters?

  • Yes we do!

    As an example, the typical values from the AMC1300 datasheet are shown below and the variation due to manufacturing process is typically +/-5% (1- σ). 

    Therefore, 3-σ and 4-σ variations would be +/-15% and +/-20% respectively, but there are not min/max specified values for these parameters and variations greater than these levels are possible.

    Input resistance variation due to temperature drift is typically 3ppm/C.

    Input resistance variation over lifetime of the isolated converter is not currently specified but negligible after high temperature over lifetime (HTOL) testing and will generally shift within the distribution levels shared above.
