LMH6401: Output State When device disabled

Part Number: LMH6401

What is the state of the output of the LMH6401 when the device is disabled?  Is it high-Z?  Otherwise?

I don't see a description in the datasheet; might be a useful note to add to it.

thanks, -Steve

  • Hello Steve,

The state of the output of the LMH6401 when the device is disabled is "relatively" high impedance. By this, it means that it will be high impedance unless there is a large voltage output seen at the output pins of the amplifier due to the feedback loop still intact. A large enough voltage can turn on the transistors internal to the amplifier.

Other devices such as rail to rail output amplifiers usually are more resistant to this behavior because of the inherent setup of these transistors to obtain rail-to-rail.

    Thank you,

    Sima
