TLV2401: Output current spec

Part Number: TLV2401

Customer is using TLV2401 op-amp as Voltage amplifier in our design. When are checking the output characteristics of the op-amp, unable to understand Output current test condition comment. Can you please explain the test condition & parameter in detail?

Is Vo set to VCC-0.5 or VDD+0.5V while measuring output current?

  • Yes. This test connects a voltage source to the output, and measures how much current flows.

What this specification means is that if the load is no larger than ±200 µA, then TI guarantees that the opamp can generate all output voltages up to 0.5 V from the rails. (This is not true for all temperatures; see figures 11 to 16. And the peak voltage is also limited by the frequency; see figure 17.)
