AMC1301: VINN pin and GND1 pin connection consult

Part Number: AMC1301
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC1300

Hi Team,

Customer is asking whether they can disconnect VINN pin and GND1 pin in their application. What's the internal impedance value between above two pins? I notice we recommend to short GND1 pin and VINN pin in our D/S. What's the reason for that? Pls help us here. Thanks.

Best,

Stanley

  • Hi Stanley,

The typical application would tie either VINn or VINp to GND1 and swing whichever input is not grounded +/-250mV about the 0V potential.  You can certainly leave VINn disconnected from GND1, but you would have be be careful that your input common mode does not exceed the datasheet limits of the amplifier.  Please also consider using the AMC1300 instead of the AMC1301, the AMC1300 has somewhat improved performance compared to the AMC1301.
