AMC3330EVM: AMC3330EVM + labels on the safety barrier

Part Number: AMC3330EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC3330

Hello,

on the AMC3330EVM there are labels glued on the isolation barriers on both sides of the board.

Is this okay for the security requirements?

Regards

Karl

  • Hi Karl,

Great observation and you are correct. I agree that in a normal system that anything, including labels should not span the isolation barrier as it provides an alternate path for electrical current to flow. However the evaluation module is not certified for high voltage operation and should not be used for testing the isolation specifications of the device. The evaluation module is meant to provide a means to test the analog and digital characteristics of the device and provide a recommended layout to customers.

  • Hello Alexander,

thank you for the fast reply.

I understand that the EVM is not certified for high voltage operation by TI.... but I need an express solution with AMC3330 until the day after tomorrow.

Please only tell me: What is the type of the material of the PCB?

Then I am going to decide by myself.

I assume that the AMC3330 on the EVM-Board is a part according to the data sheet specifications, right?

    Regards

    Karl

  • Hi Karl,

It's a standard FR4 lead free construction PCB with a thickness of 1.6mm.

Yes, the AMC3330 on the EVM is according to the datasheet specifications.
