TLV3604: How to use LVDS output with CMOS input

Part Number: TLV3604
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV3601, TDC7201,

Hi team,

My customer wants to use TLV3601 for time domain reflectometer sensor. But the customer need to implement very long delay line on PCB (160mm) to meet the requirement of minimum detectable pulse width.

The TLV3604 can be a good fit there it requires 40% less delay line. But the TLV3604 have LVDS output and TDC7201 have a CMOS input.

Can you please advise a way how the customer can use TLV3604  with TDC7201 CMOS input?

Can we just use only OUT+ pin leaving OUT- unused?

  • Hello,

Did your customer mean to say that the TLV3601 requires less delay line than the TLV3604? The TLV3601 is the slower device and the device I would think would be better suited for a slower pulse.

Can your customer please provide a timing diagram of what the desired timing is for this system with the detection window?

Unfortunately, the LVDS output of the TLV3604 won't be compatible with the required input levels of the TDC7201.

I would like some more clarification on what the customer would like to achieve and the problem that they are encountering.

    Kind Regards,

    Joe
