The customer is asking that the maximum case temperature of LM393BIDGKR. I can only find the ambient temperature in the DS. Thank you.

Hi Team,

I know the Tc can also be calculated by Ta with the formula. In order to prevent the calculation error, do we have the LM393B Tc value which can provide to the customer? Thank you.

Hello Mike,

With low power, low self heating devices such as this, Ta is assumed to be Tj.

The maximum operating temperature is 125C, which would be ambient. The actual die temp is a degree or two higher due to power dissipation, but the extra die temperature is covered in the characterization.

What are they trying to calculate or estimate?

All the available thermal resistance values are in table 6.5.
