OPA2131: input protection circuit

Hi team,

Is clamp diode or input protection circuit integrated in OPA2131?

OPA2131 datasheet does not explain this. Is there any way to judge whether the amplifier is integrated with clamp diodes?

The absolute maximum ratings for the input voltage imply that there are clamping diodes from GND and to V_CC. (See [FAQ] Can the input voltage (Vi) to my logic device be higher than the supply voltage (Vcc)?)

In other words, the amplifier OPA2131 ( IN to V+, IN to V- ) is internally integrated with a clamping diode, isn't it?

Hi Amy,

Yes, your highlight above shows that there are diodes to the supply voltages (V- and V+). There are no diodes, however, between the inputs (-IN, +IN). So, the input differential voltage ((+IN) - (-IN)) is not limited by diodes, as is the case for many amplifiers. For this device, the voltage on the inputs is only limited to be between the supply voltages.
