TLV9004/OPA4313/TLV4313 phase reversal question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV9004, TLV4313, OPA4348

Hello dear colleagues,

I hope you are doing well!Blush

I am writing with regard to a question from our customer ( ).
We have suggested three cheaper types (TLV9004, OPA 4313 and TLV4313) as alternatives for the OpAmp OPA4348AIPWR used by the customer.
Although "no-phase reversal in overdrive conditions" is mentioned in all three data sheets, this is not so clearly specified, one could understand that this is only the case within the "common mode" area, e.g. with TLV4313.
With the OPA4348 this function was clearly shown, in the picture and in the text:

Question:
Can you confirm that there is no phase inversion with the TLV9004, OPA 4313 or TLV4313 if the input current is limited by a series resistor (below the maximum value of 10mA)?

With appreciation and thanks in advance,

Candas

  • Hello Candas,

One input need to be inside the common mode range. The other input can exceed rail; if limited in current. The output will be correct [VOL, VOH] based on which input is more positive [IN-, IN+]. 10mA is the absolute maximum value; lesser current should be ensured.
