INA238: review the multi-channel voltage monitor schematics

Part Number: INA238
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00313, LMR33620

Hi Sir,

My customer would like to use the INA238 to monitor the multi-channel voltage and refer to the TIDA-00313 schematics, could you please help to review the schematics?

The V-out of LMR33620 is -15.7V, the voltage monitor range is -15V to +45V.

The 10-ch INA238 voltage monitor schematics as below:

  • Hello Henry,

Sorry for the confusion about this thread post. I originally moved your post the the internal forum because of the attached schematic, but did not realize that you do not have an internal email address.... Sorry about that.  I will remove the other thread, and I'll remove the attached schematic from this thread, but here is my response:

In general, this schematic looks good to me, however I have 2 comments:

    1. I did not see the pull up resistors for the I2C lines. Maybe I missed them, or they are in a different section of the schematic?
    2. The TIDA-00313, uses capacitors to GND on the I2C lines on either side of the isolator (C4, C5, C8, C9).  I did not see these in your schematic either. We have seen that these are usually needed in isolation setups to help ensure proper device communication.
  • Hello Mitch

    1. Pull up resistors : R945.R946.R947.R948.R949.R950

    2. Capacitors to GND on the I2C lines : C924.C925.C931.C930.C926.C927

  • Oh, yes, thank you, I see them now.  This schematic looks good to me.
