INA188: bias current path for thermocoupler

Hi, in datasheet sector:

7.4.3 Input Bias Current Return Path

The picture shows that we could connect 10kohm between one input to GND.

But I think in this case the common mode input voltage is still almost 0, right?

Then the common mode input range is still violated, right?

Since the common mode range is V- +0.1V to V+ -1.5V, right?

    This would be true if you use a single supply voltage.  However, if you use a dual supply like +/5V, the input range would be from -4.9V to +3.5V and thus would include the ground.

    Having said that, for a single supply thermocouple or thermopile application, instead of INA188 it would be better to use an op amp like OPA387 - see below.
