My customer inquires INA186 usage, could you support how INA186 behave?
E.g. in case of INA186 x500 version, if the sense resistor voltage is 8mV and Vs=2.5V, how the output behave? Calculated output is 4V, but, the output clamp to 2.5V only? Is there any other issue for this usage?
And if the sense voltage resistor voltage decrease from 8mV to 1mV, can INA186 show proper output without any issue or delay?

Hi Koji,
with 8mV input signal the output goes into saturation. When the input signal decreases, the output signal shows an overload recovery time and does not immediately react on the decrease of input signal:

As stated by Kai, the INA186A5 will be in saturation at 8mV Vshunt, you will hit the swing high limit. See figure below:
Kai has also represented what will happen when going from saturation to the linear range of the INA186A5 with his simulation. There will be some recovery time needed before getting an accurate measurement.
I also agree with Kai on maybe consider using a lower gain device.
