INA226: Is INA226 direct mode or linear mode for register's value?

Part Number: INA226

Hello expert,

May we know INA226 is direct mode or linear mode for register's value? Customer would like to double check for FW reading. Thanks a lot!!

Best regards,

Ann Lien

  • Add picture for direct format for MP5023. They would like to know if INA226 is the same format as MP5023 or not. Thanks a lot!

  • Hi Ann Lien,

INA226 register value conversion takes place in a different format than the example you provided.

Its register values are proportional to the parameters (current/voltage/power) being reported. A multiplier would be applied to the register values in order to translate into physical readings in ampere, volt or watt.

For example, to convert Bus voltage from the Bus Voltage register, simply multiply the decimal register value by 1.25mV. The resulting value would be Bus voltage in mV.

  • Hello Guang,

May we know if you can provide excel for customer to calculate the value? Since datasheet equation is hard to calculate. Thanks!

  • Hi Ann Lien,

We do provide an Excel calculator, and you can find it here, toward the bottom of the page.

Please download and give it a try. If further assistance is needed, please let me know.
