TLV4172: asymmetric supply options

Hi all,

 

would it be possible the run the TLV4172 with an asymmetrix supply. Fro example example  +21V and -3V.

 

This is still within the limit of 36 Volt max. for a single supply.  From my point of view as long as the application has an inputsignal within the CMR it should be OK?  Anything else you think needs to be checked?

    Bertram,

    The device will function with asymmetric supply. You are correct, ensure the input signal is within the common mode range. The other items off the top of my head for a checklist are look for large output caps for stability, and make sure there are not any pins going directly (without a resistor) to an external connector for ESD/EOS considerations.
