INA240-Q1: settling time with external RC filter

Part Number: INA240-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA240

Hi,

my customer is unsing INA240A1Q.. in combination with an input RC filter with tau = 1us.

What is the settling time for the complete "system" of filter and INA240, is it the 9,6us or do they need to add the time from the filter ?

In addition I think they have to look into the filter values and doing a gain calibration like described here and the mentioned video ?

Best wishes,

Olrik

  • Hello Olrik,

If the input filter has a very small cutoff frequency then the settling time will be around the INA240's settling time. While if the filter is larger then the settling time will be that of the filter.

Yes they will need to look into designing the input filter to minimize error.
