ALM2402-Q1: negative voltage on GND pin

Part Number: ALM2402-Q1

Hi Expert,

My customer has a new requirement for the EC mirror control which list as below.

Requirement:

  • dual output,
  • Output range: -1.25V~1.25V, 0.1V~0.2V step, ±0.2V accuracy per step
  • output current: 500mA

I would like to check if ALM2402-Q1 can meet this requirement? Does ALM2402-Q1 can connect negative power rail to GND pin?

Thanks!

Ethan Wen

  • Hi Ethan,

Does ALM2402-Q1 can connect negative power rail to GND pin?

ALM2402-Q1 may be used in dual power supply rails, as long as [(V+) - (V-)] <= 16Vdc.

As it is written, the specification in ALM2402-Q1 is referenced to a single supply rail and GND.  If dual power supply rails are used, the OTF related flag indicators will be referenced to V- pin instead. For instance, the minimum V_IH_OTF indicator will be (V-) + 1.0Vdc if a negative rail is implemented.

Regarding the output current of 500mA, please let us know how is rated and at what temperature. Please clarify the color and bleach requirements in EC application. I think that the application may refer to a peak current.
